Living in Frisco

What it's like to live in Frisco

Frisco was founded in 1873 and sits on the shore of Lake Dillon, just off I-70 at exit 203. Main Street runs down to the Frisco Bay Marina, and the town calls itself the Main Street of the Rockies. It's central: Breckenridge is about 10 miles south, and Copper, Keystone, and A-Basin are all close. The town hosts more than 75 festivals and races a year, so it stays lively outside ski season.

Homes include condos downtown, remodeled 1960s homes on big lots in Frisco Heights, older and newer homes in Bill's Ranch near the lake, and newer construction in Sawyers Settlement a block from Main Street. I didn't find a Frisco-only price figure I trust. Countywide, the assessor's review of sales from July 2022 to June 2024 put the single-family median at about $1.89 million and the condo median at about $822,000, as reported by Summit Daily.

Frisco caps short-term rental licenses at 25 percent of its housing stock, which was about 900 licenses when the cap passed in 2022, and it reviews the number each year. Condos carry HOA dues, and homes near the forest edge face wildfire risk like the rest of the county. I live on the Front Range, so for Frisco I team up with a local agent I trust and stay with you through the whole move.
